Training and Experience

Michele has earned her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. This certification requires many years of practice in treating eating disorders, several thousands of hours of supervised experience with an approved consultant, and extensive training. Michele uses a team approach incorporating dietitians, doctors, and psychiatrists as appropriate. Her work is informed by weight-inclusivity and intuitive eating principles. Michele has also completed training through the Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders Institute, which incorporates somatic, polyvagal, and trauma-informed strategies for recovery and embodiment. Michele is a member of the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH).
"At the heart of a lot of the dysfunctional things we do with food and our bodies is a desire to feel okay."
