About & Resources

Picture
Michele Meinhardt, LSCSW, CEDS is a therapist in Wichita, Kansas with specialized training for food and body issues and EMDR and trauma. Michele also has a heart for working with folks who are coping with anxiety, depression, shame, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or life transitions, or are looking for Christian counseling. People who work with Michele appreciate her gentle yet direct manner, her willingness to walk with with them in the midst of suffering, and her focus on building practical skills that translate from the therapy room to real life.
Michele uses a trauma and attachment-informed approach that incorporates elements of somatic and polyvagal work, mindfulness and self-compassion, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in addition to EMDR therapy. Michele is committed to growth both personally and professionally, and seeks a high level of competence and professionalism through ongoing training and consultation.

Outside of her work, Michele enjoys taking long walks in nature and visiting new places (the ocean and mountains are some of her favorites!), playing board games, connecting with her family, friends, and pets, and watching mystery/thriller/sci-fi movies.
